I haven't been able to diamond paint, because my work life is killing my hands. So we're going to take some comfort grip pens and turn them into Franken Drill Pens so I can diamond paint again!

I don't think I have any new links to share for this video. If I do, and I missed it, let me know!
This pretty much concludes the tutorials for diamond painting. In the future, I'll do some trouble shooting and FAQ videos, as the need arises, as well as some time lapse videos. I'll also be posting pictures here of my work in progress, and finished canvasses providing links to everything I show as usual.
If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments on the blog or on YouTube. I'll do my best to answer here or in another video.
I hope you enjoyed these tutorials, I had a lot of fun making them for you!
See you soon,

...since I ordered this diamond painting |
Let me apologize in advance for saying "Um" a lot in this video. I had extensive dental work done yesterday, and the painkillers are making my brain a little fuzzy!

I actually put up a post in one of my diamond painting Facebook groups, asking people to comfort me with their horror stories of how long Chicago customs takes. Still, even after hearing people say it had taken more than two months, after five weeks with no movement from my package, I had pretty much given up all hope of getting it, which made me sad.
Imagine how happy I was when my phone dinged with the delivery notification!
It just goes to show that patience is a virtue with this craft, and the slow boat from China (through Chicago) is a very real thing.
All drills were present and accounted for in this kit. One bag did have a small tear in it, which is why I'm picking up stray drills from all over as I'm unboxing the kit, but the seller sent extra packs of drills in a lot of colors, so I don't think I'll be short.
Hope you enjoyed!
Hugs,
We inventoried the diamonds, but you can't work out of those cellophane baggies. What are we supposed to do with all of these tiny little diamonds?!?!?

The next video will be some storage options for keeping your drills accessible while you work on your diamond painting. I also have an unboxing video coming up for a kit I've been waiting on forever!!!
See you soon!
Hugs,
I've had a few complaints from family and friends that I've gotten them addicted to diamond painting and then left them high and dry when their first kits come. It's not that I don't want to help, I just don't live close enough to all of my loved ones to be able to give them personal coaching through things like how to inventory a kit, or load a drill pen.
Diamond painting isn't hard, in fact it's probably one of the easiest crafts I've ever done, but it can be overwhelming when you open your first kit!
So I'm going to fix that with a set of tutorial videos; Diamond Painting 101. I'll walk you through the basics of getting started, we'll go over a few of the most commonly asked questions, as well as some of the most common problems you might run into.
This first one is easy; your kit has finally arrived! Now what?!?
Inventory!
If you find you are missing drills when you've finished inventorying your kit, contact the seller on AliExpress or Amazon, or return it to the brick and mortar store you purchased it from for a refund or exchange. Most internet sellers will send out replacement drills, if they refuse, file a dispute with the hosting company. You purchased a complete kit, and you deserve to get a complete kit!
You can also purchase packs of drills online if you're desperate. My favorite store for drills is Golden Panno on AliExpress.
The kits shown in the video are:

It's called Diamond Painting, and I didn't know much of anything about it, so I purchased the small kit above on Amazon to see if I liked it.
I was hooked pretty quickly.
It's super easy to do, but it also allows pretty soothing. I was worried I would find it tedious, but I don't. It's exciting to see the picture form as I work on it, and it also allows my brain some peace as I focus on the task.
So before I finished my coffee picture, I ordered two more from Amazon...

Once those two were done, I knew I wanted to try a bigger one. I've always been a fan of the Titanic, I read "A Night to Remember" when I was was 12, and I had seen a kit on Amazon that was an artists rendition of the sinking. So I ordered it in the largest size I could, and got to work.

It took me about a month to complete, and I decided I was up for a bigger challenge...
I had joined some Diamond Painting Facebook groups, and had seen some lovely projects made with square drills (diamonds). So I ordered a small one on Wish to try out.

At first I was really frustrated with the square, I couldn't get them to line up just right and it seemed very fiddly. However, I really liked the detail and the fact that there weren't any sticky gaps between the drills. Eventually I found that by placing the drills in a checkerboard pattern, when I went back to fill in the gaps it would snap everything into place, and the drills would line themselves up for the most part.
Around this time, my husband bought me a new craft desk so I could sit more comfortably while I Diamond Painted.

I also purchased some small canvases that I could carry in an ArtBin and take with me on the go...

Now, I'm currently working on my biggest square drill painting to date. It's called Freewheelin', and I purchased it from Paint with Diamonds.

So the reason I'm telling you this, is because I seem to keep getting people addicted to this hobby (my husband say's I'm a craft pusher), and while sometimes the people live close enough to me that I can personally show them the ropes, sometimes they don't. Since this is a newer craft, there aren't may tutorials out there yet, so I'm going to throw my hat into the ring and start putting up some tutorials, product reviews, and general recommendations on what I've tried, what has worked, and what hasn't.
I'm doing this mostly for my friends and family who I've gotten hooked, so I don't leave them high and dry, but hopefully someone else might get some use out of it too.
Until next time...
Hugs,
