April 2 - April 18, 2017

By Anne - April 18, 2017

You'll have to forgive me for going two weeks without an update again, but I've been struggling to keep up with my life, plus the two challenges I joined for April, so blogging took a back seat.

I'm going to do what I did last time and just dump my work up here for you to browse. If you want to look at something closer, click on the picture to make it bigger.

I've been using the geeky challenge to work on my brush lettering. I've been playing more with my brush markers, trying to get a better feel for them, and I think I'm starting to get better and more confident with the larger markers.

I've also played with different effects; gradients, highlights, and shadows of all sorts. This challenge doesn't stress me out as much as my other challenge, so it's been fun trying to hone my skills on some newer techniques.

The challenge I'm hosting, on the other hand, is stressing me the *F* out...

As you can see, I'm doing a lot more with this challenge, including layouts and drawings/doodles. Don't get me wrong, I'm having fun with it, but I feel like I'm expending a lot of my creativity trying to come up with ideas.

Everything you see here has pretty much been done with the same tools I've linked to before, with a couple of exceptions. Plan 9 was colored with my Spectrum Noir Markers, and I got some new paper that I absolutely love. HP Premium Choice Laserjet Paper Poly Wrap Paper is super smooth, and holds up really well to most markers without shredding the tips. Plus it's very affordable if you get it on Amazon.

So there you go, that's what I've been up to.
See you soon!
